Job Title:    Commissioning Lead Engineer

Short Job Summary:

The candidate shall develop Detailed Commissioning Procedures describing how to test each single machine/equipment before initial start-up of the various units. 

General Job Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand the available process documentation such as PFDs, PIDs, Licensor Manuals, Vendors Manuals
  • Develop the list of required Commissioning Procedures considering the involved equipment/machinery/packages
  • Develop the Commissioning Procedures considering Vendors instructions, data sheets and operational constrains
  • Develop a solid schedule for the development of above mentioned documentation, considering necessary priorities
  • Liaise with internal/external interfaces whenever details are missing or not clear  
  • Report daily to PC&C Manager the status of the activities and any concern or difficulty might arise
  • Promote constant communication with Owner Personnel in order to facilitate review of the developed documentation  
  • Participate to meetings with Owner as required
  • Implement and discuss any comment that Owner might arise in reviewing the produced documentation  
  • Act as a responsible person for the permit to work procedures
  • Ensure that all the tasks put to the team are completed on a daily basis
  • Develop all the documents, procedures,  related to pre-commissioning/commissioning
  • Supervise walk downs and punch items review, including follow up the punch items closure
  • Responsible for leak identification, leading the leaks repairs activities
  • Pressure Test Packs (MOP : Maximum Operating Pressure Leak Testing)
  • Gross Air Leak Test (GALT)
  • Ensure that all assigned scope of work is completed within the timeframe set for the activity
  • Ensure that the design of engineering work is achieved and the related equipment in acceptable operational condition

Required work experience

–  At least 6 years of experience in Oil & Gas and Plant Industry,

 – Experienced in coordination and monitoring of the “Pre-commissioning and Commissioning teams” interfacing with other disciplines involved in the project;

— experience in preparation, review and analysing of commissioning procedures;

 – experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning of static and dynamic equipment;

–  Experience in coordinating all steps of commissioning (issuing procedures, signing off reports, quality control forms, coordinating commissioning team technicians);                                                                            

– Experience in supervising mechanical completion and plant handover and make sure that the “punch lists works” are performed correctly and rapidly

– experience in measuring the physical progress of the works in charge on a weekly basis for reporting

 – experience in ensuring of HSE during pre-commissioning and commissioning operations

– experience in preparation of equipment (pumps, steam turbines, compressors) for mechanical test runs;

– – Participating in the Commissioning planning preparation, review and analyze the planning received from Project

– To work closely with Project Pre-commissioning team to ensure piping Pre-commissioning activities are correctly prepared and implemented: Hydro test, Cleaning, reinstatement, flange management, air leak test

–  Experience in forecasting deviations as well as initiating preventive  actions against them;

– Experience in managing and executing all activities related to Piping discipline

Desirable skills:

Knowledge of Technip Safety Standards;

Language skills: Italian, Spanish

Previous Experience at Technip Projects would be as an advantage
