The construction of the Trans-Adriatic Gas Pipeline (TAP), which envisages the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Europe, has been completed by more than 84 percent.
According to the consortium TAP AG, the managing director of the consortium, Luca Skieppati, spoke at the European Gas Conference in Vienna.
“The TAP project is completed by more than 84 percent. Between Greece and Albania, about 97 percent of the pipes have already been laid in the ground. In Italy, work is underway at the receiving terminal of the pipeline and at the micro tunneling section,” said Skieppati.
Note that TAP worth 4.5 billion euros is part of the Southern Gas Corridor project. The TAP shareholders are: BP – 20 percent, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) – 20 percent, Snam – 20 percent, Fluxys – 19 percent, Enagás – 16 percent, Axpo – five percent.
