The Gazprom Management Committee approved the corporate Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Policy.
The newly-adopted document builds on Gazprom’s existing Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Concept for 2011–2020 and reflects the Company’s obligations in this area. Energy efficiency and saving is designated as a top priority for Gazprom.
The Company will continue to make sustained efforts to improve energy efficiency, save natural energy resources and reduce greenhouse gas emissions at its production facilities.
In accordance with the new document, every stage of the Company’s investment projects will include assessments and efficient management of environmental risks. The Policy also pays great attention to helping employees further enhance their competencies, encouraging them to use energy resources in a rational manner, and engaging them in the continuous improvement of the energy efficiency and energy saving management system.
The approved Policy is mandatory for all employees of Gazprom and its production subsidiaries, as well as recommended for use in other affiliated entities. Preparations are currently underway for the upcoming certification of the Company’s corporate energy management system under the ISO 50001 international standard.
