SOCAR Trading to start LNG shipments to Pakistan in October

SOCAR Trading will begin deliveries of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Pakistan in the coming months.

According to Pakistan LNG Limited, the operator of the LNG terminal, SOCAR’s “daughter” has become one of the winners of the tender for supplying the company with liquefied gas.

LNG delivery will be carried out in two batches, the volume of each being 140 thousand cubic meters. The first shipment will be shipped on October 10-11, and the second – on October 20-21.

Other winners of the tender held on July 26, along with SOCAR Trading, were the companies GUNVOR International, BB Energy and Trafigura Pte ltd.

It is noted that currently Pakistan’s energy needs amount to 79.58 million tons of oil equivalent. 38 percent of these needs are met by natural gas, 34 percent by oil, and six percent by LNG and other resources.
