The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) have set up a committee to discuss prices for liquefied natural gas (LNG).
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, after the signing of the interstate agreement between Azerbaijan and Pakistan in 2017, PLL is negotiating with the SOCAR for the supply of LNG.
Under the agreement, the Pakistani authorities gave powers to the State Oil Company (PSOCL), PLL, Pakistan LNG Terminal Limited (PLTL), the oil company OGDCL and Pakistan Petroleum Limited to negotiate trade in petroleum products, transport LNG and create LNG terminals.
Powers from the Azerbaijani side are owned by SOCAR.
According to sources, the agreement on trade in petroleum products was prepared by the State Oil Company of Pakistan.
Sources say that large companies showed interest in investing in the LNG sector in Pakistan.
