The production association Azerkimya and Italy’s Technip will conclude November 5 an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contract in the framework of the project of reconstruction of the Ethylene-Polyethylene plant, the Vice President of SOCAR on Strategic Development Tofig Gahramanov said.
“In addition, the contract will be signed with the Azerbaijan-American joint venture SOCAR-KBR LLC for the provision of consulting services in project management,” said Gahramanov.
As part of the reconstruction of the plant modernization of existing processing units will be carried out and new plants will be built. All of this ultimately will increase the production capacity for Azerkimya, provide the raw material for the production of the polyethylene and polypropylene plant, which will be constructed in Sumgait to meet domestic demand for these products, increase the export potential, ensure and increase the quality of raw materials and finished products.
