The Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev does not exclude export of oil from the Kashagan field through the territory of Azerbaijan in 2017, National Business Kazakhstan reported.
‘Maybe next year, if market conditions change, there will be supplies through Azerbaijan,’ said Bozumbayev at the 13th meeting of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which took place on September 22.
According to him, in this case it will be possible to use the system of railways and oil pipelines through Azerbaijan. ‘So the volume of production should grow significantly in the near future,’ said the Minister of Energy.
Bozumbayev reminded that the official launch of Kashagan is planned for the end of October – beginning of November 2016.
