SOCAR Trading SA (‘daughter’ of SOCAR, headquartered in Geneva) sold 14 million tons of oil in the world market in 2015, according to the President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev, whose article was published in the parliamentary newspaper Azerbaijan.
‘In 2015 SOCAR Trading sold in the world market 253 million barrels of crude oil, including more than 166 million barrels of Azerbaijani oil and 14 million tons of petroleum products,’ said Abdullayev.
‘At present, the Azerbaijani oil is exported to more than 25 countries, including the USA, the UK, China, India, Indonesia, and Canada,’ said the head of SOCAR.
He added that SOCAR is interested in increasing its equity participation in international markets and in expanding the geography of its presence.
SOCAR Trading SA started its operations in December 2007. The company is engaged in transactions for the sale of crude oil and liquefied natural gas in the international markets.
