Turkey has confirmed its interest in implementation of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project, Bloomberg quoted Alexander Medvedev, Gazprom Deputy Chairman of Board, as saying.
Medvedev said that Turkish Minister of Economy Mikhat Zeybekchi has brought up the issue of Turkish Stream and confirmed that Turkey is interested in this project.
He also explained that a working group of Energy Ministers of Russia and Turkey will be created to implement the project.
The term of resumption of the Turkish Stream project could be clarified after the meeting between Russian and Turkish Presidents, which will take place on August 9, Medvedev added.
He also said that the sides did not discuss the gas discount for the Turkish Botas company, Commenting on the possibility of resumption of the Turkish Stream project, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said that Russia is ready to export gas via the Black Sea, if the consumers are interested in the project.
