Turkmenistan President defined economic perspectives of the country for 2016

gurbanguluAt the session of the Elders Council Turkmenistan President Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov has defined economic perspectives of the country.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has been growing in Turkmenistan fast in the past several years, President said. During last year GDP growth constituted 8.3%. The capital investments increased by 8.2% and average salary by 10%.

President that construction of big industrial facilities is in progress, construction of East-West gas pipeline and a big sea port on the Caspian Sea coast is also going on. The program of industrial development of the country till 2030 has been adopted and the measures will be taken to diversify gas export.

There are great possibilities for development of chemical industry in Garabogaz as well, said Turkmenistan President. Construction of a big gas chemical complex is in progress in Kiyanly now. It will manufacture 386,000 tons of polyethylene and 81,000 tons of polypropylene a year. The industrial complex, which is under construction in Ovadandepe, will produce high quality gasoline by refining of natural gas. Several enterprises for natural gas refining will be also built in the country.

In 2016 construction of 428 big facilities with a total value of over $9,700,000,000 will be completed and they will be launched, added President.

In 2016 it is planned to start construction of over 220 objects with a total value of about $18 billion as  a part of a wide-scale investment program.
