Development of economic partnership and implementation of joint projects in the gas industry have been discussed between Turkmenistan and Japan in Ashgabad, reported the Turkmenistan Ministry of Oil & Gas Industry and Mineral Resources on September 1, 2015.
The talks have been conducted between the state concern Turkmengas and representatives of Japanese Corporations Mitsubishi,Chiyoda, Sojits, Itochu and JGC.
The sides have mainly discussed the forthcoming works to develop the third stage of the super giant field Galkynysh.
The issues related to primary natural gas cleaning and construction of the gas cleaning plant as well as feasibility study of the project have been also discussed.
The forthcoming works are directly connected with the TAPI pipeline (Turkmenistan-Afganistan-Pakistan-India).
Galkynysh field is the main raw material for the operating and designed gas pipelines, including TAPI.
Ministry also reported that cooperation with the Japanese partners is an important component of development of cooperation between Tukmenistan and the Asian region as a whole.
