Kazakhstan National Oil & Gas Company KazMunaiGas (KMG) has decided to hand over 50% share in the KazRosGas to the management of KazTransGas (KTG), reported KTG press office.
The decision has been made by the KMG Board on June 18, 2015.
KazRosGas was created by KMG and Russian Gasprom on the parity basis for the efficient execution of the agreement between the Kazakhstan and Russian governments on the cooperation in the gas industry of November 28, 2001.
The main functions of the company include Kazakhstan natural gas operations, including marketing, processing, transportation, sale of gas and products of its refining at the local and foreign markets.
KazRosGas company is involved in utilization of gas extracted on the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field, which is the biggest one in the world. The field is being developed by Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. company.
In 2014 KazRosGas refined 8,594,000,000 cub.m. of crude gas from the Karachaganak field at the Orenburg gas chemical complex. In 2014 5,914,000,000 cub.m. of gas was delivered to the local market in Kazakhstan.
KTG is the national operator of Kazakhstan in field of gas and gas supply. KTG group of companies includes the companies producing, transporting and selling gas and products of its refining to the different organizations and plants.
