April 7, 2015 at the meeting in Budapest Foreign Ministers of Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece and Turkey will discuss the perspectives of participation in the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project, Iviza Dachich, Serbian Senior Vice Premier and Foreign Minister, told journalists.
He said the energy supply and energy safety will be the main subject of the meeting.
“Five countries will exchange opinions on whether they are ready to implementation of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, which is a new route of gas supply of the region,” Dachich said.
In December 2014 Russia announced it is not going to build the South Stream gas pipeline. In exchange it was decided to build the gas pipeline to Turkey (Turkish Stream) and create a gas hub for the consumers of Southern Europe on the Greek border.
Capacity of the new pipeline will be 63 billion cub.m. of gas, of which about 47 billion cub.m. is planned to be delivered to Europe. Delivery of the first gas via the Turkish Stream is planned to begin in December 2016.
