LUKoil Overseas is going to invest about $200-300 million into drilling of two exploration wells on the Romanian shelf, reported www.Neftegas.ru.
In February 2011 the consortium with LUKoil Overseas has signed the concession agreements for exploration and development of two blocs in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea –Est Rhapsody and Trident – with the Romanian National Agency for Mineral Resources after the tender in July 2010.
LUKoil Overseas has 72% share in the project, Pan Atlantic – 18% and Romgaz – 10%.
In November 2014 LUKoil Overseas started implementation of the drilling program. The first exploratory well Helena-1X was drilled on the Est Rhapsody bloc, 185 km east of the Romanian Black Sea coast. Two new wells on the Trident bloc will become the next stage of the drilling program.
In 2014-2015 5 perspective objects, 3 of which are mandatory and 2 ones are optional, have been prepared for drilling on the Romanian shelf within the framework of the geological exploration.
