Greece to receive 3 billion Euro for Turkish Stream agreement
Greece could receive 3 billion Euro as an advance for conclusion of the agreement to build the transit gas pipeline for Russian gas export through the territory of the country, Bloomberg agency quoted Greek Premier Alexis Tsipras as saying in his interview to Star TV.
He said the project implementation will result in creation of the European energy hub in Georgia and cost of energy carriers for Greece will be reduced. Greece believes that the pipeline should be built with obseration of all demands of the European legislation.
German media reported earlier that Greece’s advance for the Turkish Stream project could reach about 5 billion Euro. However, press officer of Russian President Dmitrii Peskov refuted these rumors.
Russia and Greece have been discussing construction of the Greek bend of the Turkish Stream. The Russian representatives said that the project could be implemented by the Russian-European consortium in correspondence with the European legislation. Gasprom is going to transit 47 bilion cub.m. of gas through Greece.
