Turkmenistan has been negotiating with Azerbaijan and Turkey to export its gas to Europe, Turkmenistan President Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov said after his meeting with Moldova’s President Nikola Timofti, who is currently in Ashgabad on an official visit.
He said Turkmenistan sells its gas to Russia, Iran and China and has been also working to diversify its gas export.
“We have been conducting tripartite talks with Azerbaijan and Turkey. I hope we will reach an agreement and this will be another steps towards implementation of the European direction,” Berdymohammadov said.
He also drew attention to the fact that gas export to Europe has always been on the agenda in Turkmenistan.
