Trans Anatolian Pipeline project (TANAP) has been included into the list of privileged investment projects in Turkey.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Economy, in January 2015 it was offered to include 22 energy projects with a total cost of 23,723,417,000 Turkish Lira (about $9.5 billion) into the list of projects, to which various privileges are applied. The projects are exempt from VAT, customs duties and other will also have some other privileges.
The list of the privileged projects includes the projects envisaging construction of wind, solar and electric stations, generation of hot water and laying of the pipelines.
Total cost of TANAP is 23.2 billion Turkish Lira. It is planned to import machinery and equipment to a total amount of $761 million to Turkey to implement the project, reported the same source.
Laying of foundation of TANAP is scheduled to be held in Turkey in March 2015. Turkey will receive first gas from Azerbaijan via the pipeline in the mid-2018.
The length of the TANAP gas pipeline is 1800 km from the Georgian-Turkish to the Turkish-Greek border, which consists of a short offshore section, connecting lines, crane junctions, the scraping stations, measuring stations, compressor stations and other infrastructure.
The packet of documents on TANAP construction was signed on June 26, 2012 in Istanbul.
TANAP is designed to transport Azerbaijani gas from the Shah Deniz field Phase 2. The initial carrying capacity of the gas pipeline will be 16 billion cub.m.
30% share in TANAP is owned by Turkish BOTAS, 58% by SOCAR (operator) and 12% by BP.
