In 2015 Gasprom plans to reduce the volume of gas purchase in Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan by almost 10 billion cub.m. and replace this volume with its own gas, RIA Novosti reported quoting Alexander Medvedev, deputy chairman of Board of Gasprom.
“As a result of investments into the production and transport, Gasprom has no need in purchasing gas abroad, irrespective of the source. Gasprom is able to satisfy needs of the market in any region of Russia as well as deliver gas to our consumers in Europe and in the future in Asia at the expense of its own resources, “Medvedev said in his speech at the Day of Investor in Hong Kong.
He added that in 2015 the company will continue purchasing gas in Central Asia, but it will reduce the volume.
“This year the gas export from Turkmenistan will be reduced from 10 to 4 billion cub.m. This our common decision. We will export only 1 billion cub.m. from Uzbekistan to ensure future gas transit and its distribution to the markets. This means that we have reduction by more than four times,” Medvedev added.
“6 and 3.5 billion cub.m. – almost 10 billion cub.m. – will be replaced with Russian gas. This additional profit for Gasprom,” added top manager.
