In 2014 British-Dutch Dragon Oil increased average daily production of hydrocarbons on the Cheleken field in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea by 6.8% against 2013 up to 78,079 barrels a day, reported the company’s press office.
Last year maximum volume of daily production reached 92,000 barrels a day against 74,812 barrels a day a year earlier.
In December 2014 average daily production of hydrocarbons totaled 89,068 barrels a day (in December 2013 it was 72,900 barrels a day).
Earlier Dragon Oil announced its intention increased average daily production up to 87,000-90,000 barrels a day in 2014. In 2015 it plans to increase production up to 100,000 barrels a day.
In 2014 Dragon Oil also completed drilling of 14 evaluation and production wells (13 ones on Ceytun field and one on Jigalybek field). These fields are a part of Cheleken bloc. The hydrocarbon resources within the bloc are estimated at 675 million barrels.
The company has been working in Turkmenistan on the basis of production sharing agreement (PSA) concluded in 1999.
