The consortium of the trans-Adriatic pipeline (TAP) has invited a pre-qualification process to the tender for purchase of the pipes for the onshore sections of the gas pipeline, reported TAP yesterday.
The statement reads that the tender is divided into six lots. The tender envisages purchase of the pipes with a total length of 780 km and total weight of 443,000 tons.
TAP has been selected by the consortium for development of the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field as the route to export gas to the European markets.
TAP will transport gas from the Caspian region to the south of Italy and further to the western Europe through Greece, Albania and Adriatic Sea. Total length of the pipeline will be about 870 km.
