At present Russia and Ukraine do not discuss the Russian gas transit to Europe through Ukraine after expiration of the effective agreement in 2019, said Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak.
“As far as gas transit though Ukraine is concerned, it is hard to say now, because we do not conduct any talks. Ukraine would like to revise the transit contract. We believe that the effective contract must be in force till 2019. We do not discuss the issue of gas transit after 2019 at present,” Novak said in his interview to Russia 24 TV channel.
Novak added that Ukraine will keep on receiving the volume of Russian gas it needs. “We believe that our cooperation, including the one on gas deliveries, will be continue after 2019,” Minister added.
