Yesterday Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Lee Ketsian, Premier of the Chinese State Council, who is currently on an official visit to Kazakhstan, reported press office of the Kazakhstan President.
“We have repeatedly met with chairman of the Chinese People’s Republic (CRP) See Zinpeen and discussed many issues related to cooperation between our countries. The contacts are determined by the concrete economic ties, the biggest of which have been formed in the energy field,” Kazakhstan President’s press office quoted him.
“Today a significant amount of Kazakhstan oil is extracted with involvement of Chinese companies,” Nazarbayev said. He added that transit oil pipelines pass through the republic, Kazakhstan President also mentioned a successful bilateral cooperation in the transit and transport field. “We have been working together to build the interstate shopping centre Khorgos as well as railways and highways to ensure transit through our country. We support initiative of the CRP chairman to restore the Great Silk Road, create the Fund and the bank for the infrastructure projects,” concluded President.
He added that China’s share in Kazakhstan’s oil extraction exceeds 22%.
