According to the Statistical Review of World Energy recently released by BP, during 2013 Azerbaijan extracted 46.2 million tons of oil and 931 million barrels of oil a day.
According to BP’s calculations, during 2013 world production totaled 4,132,900,000 tons. Considering this date, Azerbaijan’s share in the world production constituted 1.17%.
According to the Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee, in 1990 9,836,000 tons of oil was extracted on the fields in Baku and Absheron peninsula.
According to the oil history, in 1990 50% of the world production was ensured at the expense of the Azerbaijani fields.
