Shimkent city administration reported that 17 enterprises are not supplied with gas and 30 enterprises have limited gas supply. This has allowed providing additional volume of gas to physical persons. However, during cold winter days over 2,000 customers were left without gas and most of the times these are owners of private houses. Even residents of high-rise residential buildings in Shimkent complain about gas outages. The city administration assured that the social objects will be supplied with gas.
The gas supply problems started early this week, when Uzbekistan has reduced gas delivery to the south of Kazakhstan. The gas pressure dropped from the norm of 430,000 cub.m. an hour to 120,000 cub.m. an hour, reported Kazinform.
