BP, as the technical operator or the super-giant Shah-Deniz gas field, announced about the start of construction works within the second stage of its development. The final investment decision (FID) on that project was made on December 17 2013.
According to Gordon Birrell, BP’s Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, the initial construction works within the Shah-Deniz-2 project have been started at the Sangachal terminal.
“In addition to this, some property issues have started to be solved in Georgia due to expansion of infrastructure for Shah-Deniz-2”, – Birrel said.
The cost of works within this stage of the project is estimated to be at the level of $28 bn. Gas production is due to start before the end of 2018 and to be increased up to 16 bn of cu m per annum by the third decade of this century – reported http://abc.az.
