During 9 months Russia reduced gas deliveries to Armenia by 3.7%

armenia_gazFrom January to September 2013 Russia reduced gas deliveries to Armenia by 3.7% against the same period last year to 1,272,000,000 cub.m., reported ArmRosgasprom.
During 9 months, 2013 gas sale decreased by 0.5% to 1,122,000,000 cub.m. Armenian energy sector reduced natural gas consumption by 14.9% against last year to 112,800,000 cub.m., while its population – by 8.7% to 361,700,000 cub.m.
During 9 months, 2013 natural gas sale in the industrial sector increased by 10.8% up to 200,700,000 cub.m. Gas consumption by other consumers increased by 1.7% up to 115,900,000 cub.m.
ArmRosgasprom has a monopoly right to deliver and distribute Russian gas at the local market of Armenia. Gas is delivered to Armenia via Georgia. The company was established in 1997 and its shareholders are Russian Gasprom company (80% shares) and the Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (20%). Gasprom plans to increase its package in the Armenian gas company up to 100%.
