On January 9, 2015 Turkmenistan President made a speech at the enlarged session of the government about the goals for 2015.
“Year 2014 was not simple for Turkmenistan. The country’s economy is connected with the economies of many countries of the world. Therefore, global financial-economic crisis of certain countries directly affect Turkmenistan and negative affect its economic indexes,” Berdymohammadov said.
He added that this forces the government to take urgent measures to solve the arising problems.
“In 2015 the fuel-energy complex of Turkmenistan must continue upgrade, including implementation of the planned projects of geological exploration and extraction of natural resources, development of new fields and refining of hydrocarbons,” said Turkmen President.
He especially mentioned acceleration of implementation of a strategic project of construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.
The work on development of Galkynysh gas field on the east of the country is in progress. The plant to produce petrol from natural gas is under construction in Akhal velayat (province).
It is necessary to increase natural gas production up to 83.8 billion cub.m., of which 48 billion cub.m. is planned to be exported to the foreign countries.
In 2015 the oil production is planned to be increased up to 11.11 million tons. The pace of growth should exceed 102.9% against 2014.
It is also necessary to continue the measures to increase the volume of production and export of liquefied natural gas (LNG), Berdymohammadov said.
