The European Energy Commissar Gunter Oettinger said in his interview to German Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung newspaper that talks on the South Stream gas pipeline construction will be continued when Russia recognizes new government of Ukraine
“As the situation in the Eastern Ukraine reminds of civil war, we will be unable to make a political decision through the talks, if Russia does not recognize the Ukrainian government,” Oettinger said.
Gasprom President Aleksei Miller said earlier that construction of South Stream gas pipeline cannot be suspended by the European Commission and added that first gas will be transported via the offshore section of the gas pipeline to Bulgaria in December 2015.
